Inaugural 2019 Executech Day of Service

Executech has always had a history of giving back and serving our local communities, but this year we decided to step it up a notch.

In the past, we typically chose an event or project to support our local community during the holiday season. We’ve done Sub for Santa projects, food drives, book drives and more. But, as we’ve grown, it’s become harder to involve all of our staff in a group service project. In 2019, we decided to take a different approach. Inspired by our mantra of “People First,” we decided to inaugurate an annual, company-wide, Day of Service.

April 24, 2019 – 1st Annual Executech Day of Service

A Day of Service meant that we would pick one day where all members of the Executech family, wherever they were, would give a small part of their time to helping our local communities. Although we now have teams across the Pacific Northwest, including Spokane, Seattle, and Oregon, we were able to coordinate and all serve on the same day.

We wanted to partner with an organization that had a widespread and positive impact on local members of our communities. We are proud and excited to have partnered with the Ronald McDonald House of Salt Lake City, Spokane and Seattle to help them in their wonderful efforts.

Salt Lake City, Utah

With the majority of our Executech team based in Utah, our most significant efforts came in supporting the Ronald McDonald House of Salt Lake. Our Day of Service was organized in a way that employees could take shifts volunteering for a variety of projects at the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) as their schedules would allow.

We had a blast participating in a wide variety of projects at RMH Salt Lake including:

  • Cooking and serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner to RMH residents
  • Organizing and cleaning children’s toys
  • Cleaning the common areas
  • Weeding and cleaning the grounds and gardens
  • Cleaning theRMH shuttle vehicles
  • Assembling welcome kits and packets
  • Reading to children
  • Contributing to dozens of other small cleaning and organizing tasks

The Executech team was able to finish over two weeks worth of projects in just one day. It was an amazing experience for everyone involved and we are proud of our work. To see more pictures of our RMH SLC service and the other local projects, visit our Facebook page.

Spokane, Washington

Our Spokane team was able to partner with their local Ronald McDonald House to provide a full dinner to the residents staying there. These meals are for families that, due to medical procedures and hospital stays, often don’t get a home cooked meal. A warm meal made by our amazing team of IT cooks made a big impact on those families.

St. George, Utah

Our southern Utah team partnered with a fantastic animal shelter, RSQ Dogs in St. George and was able to provide a full day of service for them. Our team helped build new outdoor kennels including cleaning and installing new fencing.

Seattle, Washington

In Seattle, the Executech team worked with the local Ronald McDonald House to provide some needed maintenance and cleaning. Volunteers at the Ronald McDonald houses are always concerned with the safety and well-being of the children, so deep and thorough cleaning is extremely important. Our team stepped up and helped take care of some major projects to help the house feel more like a home.

Coos Bay, Oregon

The Oregon team found an exciting opportunity to work with a Youth Farm in Springfield, Oregon. They worked at one of the largest organic Youth Farms and helped contribute some much-needed manpower to weeding, building boxes and more.

Manila, Philippines

Our team in the Philippines was able to work with their local Ronald McDonald House, which sponsors an after-school program and day care for low-income children. The Executech team helped provide food and fun activities for the group of children at the program.

People First

At the end of the day, our entire company was more sore and tired than after a usual day of work, but our hearts were also more full. It was both fun and rewarding to help contribute meaningfully to important charity organizations in our community.

From our team camaraderie to our work at our clients and all our service projects, we strive to keep people at the heart of all we do. In total we had 88 employees participate in our day of service, resulting in 343 volunteer work hours across 6 local communities.
